Dr Ceri Thomas is a freelance art historian, curator and artist. His specialism is art in Wales over the last one hundred years. His books include: Ernest Zobole: A life in art (Seren 2007); Ken Elias: Thin Partitions (Seren 2009); Ogwyn Davies: Bywyd a gwaith / A life in art (Y Lolfa 2022); and Shaping Art in Wales: David Bell, Kathleen Armistead and the Modern Artist (Hmm Foundation 2023).

 

He has researched and curated numerous solo and group exhibitions which have toured around Wales including 'Ernest Zobole: a retrospective' (2004-5); 'Joan Baker: a retrospective' (2009-10); 'The Welsh Group at 60' (2008-9). His 'Shaping Wales: Bell and Armistead' is currently morphing into 'Imaging Wales: Then and Now' (2023-4). He has spoken at Hay and appeared on the BBC and on Channel 5 television. He has exhibited throughout Wales and the National Library of Wales owns several artworks by him.
