A selection of images associated with food production and consumption during the Second World War, when feeding the nation was more than ever a national priority. Evelyn Mary Dunbar (1906–1960) documented the Women's Land Army most significantly in this respect, whilst rationing and food queues, and also initiatives such as Dig for Victory and British restaurants were also depicted by artists during this period. Developed in association with Grant Waters, Art Detective Group Leader: South East England, East England and the Midlands.
