George Jardine was born in Wallasey and, while a student at Wallasey School of Art, saw work by the Surrealists at the 1938 Liverpool Academy exhibition. He continued throughout his life to be a surrealist/fantasy painter. He taught in the Graphics Department at Liverpool School of Art.
