Coloured lithograph from a historical painting depicting a scene during the American War of Independence, when the Continental Navy's Bonhomme Richard, commanded by Captain John Paul Jones, fought the Royal Navy's HMS Serapis and the HMS Countess of Scarborough, which were escorting a convoy off Flamborough Head. The poster shows the ships engaged in close combat. Printed by The David Allen Printing Co. Ltd., London. Format: quad royal. Dimensions: 40 x 50 inches, 1016 x 1270mm.
