Hugh Boycott-Brown specialised in coastal and estuary scenes and, like the Impressionists who inspired him, he loved to paint out of doors, whatever the weather. Brown was a keen sailor of small boats, particularly off the coast of East Anglia and he eventually settled in Suffolk. This view shows a crowded mooring on the Lymington River looking south towards the Isle of Wight.
