An intricately carved dark wooden panel, possibly Chinese. It is shaped like the top section of a star, with text in the midsection of the panel. The piece consists of four main carved high relief panels of groups of characters, all painted in gold, possibly gilded. The top panel appears to be in a theatre with two male characters sitting in a theatre box, one holding a fan. Three men stand directly underneath, the man on the far right holds aloft a gold disc and appears to be wearing two feathered horns. The right panel has a group of five men, with one man standing behind the bar, holding his feathered horns, one in each hand. The bottom horizontal panel depicts eight male figures, alternatively crouching and standing. Two men appear to be holding aloft brooms or possibly whips.
