A woodland-dominated landscape featuring figures from Greek mythology. The subject of this painting has been taken from Ovid's Metamorphoses and shows the transformation of Daphne into a laurel tree as she is pursued by Apollo. The figures are prominent in the landscape and it is likely they were added by another artist, traditionally identified as Filippo Lauri, as Dughet's figures were usually much more subtle.
