This painting is a reproduction of a stained glass window formerly in Farndon Church. The painting is divided into 20 sections. The four centre sections are strewn with weapons and military trophies, in the angle of one of which is a representation of Sir Francis Gamul of Buerton, a constant attendant on Charles I at the siege of Chester.

Above these are four smaller panels, the second of which depicts Richard Grosvenor who raised the posse committee in 1644. The third section depicts Sir William Mainwaring who was slain in the siege and the fourth depicts William Barnston of Churton. The ensign in the lower compartment is unknown. In the other sections are figures of pikemen, musketeers and musicians.
