This is a copy of an earlier portrait. The original, painted in 1687 by Godfrey Kneller, was formerly at Merchant Taylors' Hall but was destroyed by enemy action in the Second World War. It is inscribed 'Sir William Prichard, Knt. and Alderman, President Anno Dom: 1691' but was actually painted in 1693.
