Liliane Lijn's sculptures explore light and motion. At night, the rotating ellipses of neon invite people into the arts centre contributing to the welcoming atmosphere of the centre of social and artistic activity. The title of this sculpture is a pun on its shape and the Zen Buddhist concept of a koan – a question without an answer. This relates to meditation and the sculpture promotes peace, calm and thoughtfulness.
