Poster, British Railways (Western Region), Weston-super-Mare, The Smile in Smiling Somerset, by Merville, about 1955. Coloured lithograph depicting a young blonde woman in a red bathing suit standing with her arms in the air at the edge of the lido. Immediately to her right is a fountain, with a swimming pool and bathers behind, and at the far edge of the pool a diving platform. The main text is in red at the top of the image, while the accompanying text beneath advises that a guide is available from the town hall. Additional text reads "Travel by Train" with a British Railways 'totem' logo at bottom right. Additional text reads "Published by British Railways (Western Region), PR98, Printed in Great Britain by Waterlow & Sons Ltd, London and Dunstable".
