Within a circle of pebbles, a mother and small girl, both with windswept clothing stand on the pavement. The mother holds a baby with its wrist between her fingers, urging her to wave. The girl smiles, waves and is on tiptoe, to emphasise her enthusiasm to be seen. Beside the pair is a small terrier with its ears cocked. The adjacent pavement bears around 150 small stainless steel fish set in a narrow curving sweep of tarmac, indicating the reason for the welcome. The sculpture was erected by Lofthouse of Fleetwood Ltd (owners of Fisherman’s Friend) and Wyre Borough Council.
