A life-size figure of a junior officer in battle equipment, on a square pedestal with cornice and moulded base. There is a scrolled crest and inscription at the front, bronze plaques on the other sides, with a lobed three-stepped base. The memorial is set on a semi-circular platform with central ashlar steps and rock-faced stone retaining walls with chamfered coping.

front face: TO THE GLORY OF GOD / IN LASTING AND GRATEFUL MEMORY / OF THOSE FORMER MEMBERS / OF THIS SCHOOL / WHO BY THE SACRIFICE OF THEIR LIVES / FOR THE CAUSE OF THEIR COUNTRY / IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918 / AND THE SECOND WORLD WAR 1939-1945 / ENNOBLED THE TRADITIONS / WHICH THEY HAD HERE RECEIVED. REVERSE FACE: GOD GAVE THEM A GREAT DUTY TO DO, AND THEY DID IT. / TE DEUM LAUDAMUS.
