THIS MONUMENT HAS BEEN ERECTED / TO COMMEMORATE THE GLORIOUS DEAD / BELONGING TO THE CITY AND PARISH / OF ELGIN WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE / GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919. / THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE; First World War names on four sides; Second World War names on a wall alongside, distributed across three plaques each with: WORLD WAR II 1939 - 1945 / [names in two columns]; fourth plaque: WORLD WAR II 1939-1945 / [names in two columns] / KOREAN WAR 1950-1953 / [names]
