A standing full-height statue of a soldier in battledress, rests his hands on an upturned rifle. The statue stands on a a bronze base, mounted on plinth which stands on a splayed rectangular pedestal. The names of the fallen from the First World War appear on the four sides of the plinth, and on the north and south sides there are bronze reliefs of Navy and Air Force wartime scenes. The names of the fallen from the Second World War are listed on the splayed extended walls of the pedestal.
