The memorial features the figure of a kilted Highland soldier stood easy at the top. Below, on each side of the main body of the obelisk, are four stone tablets with dedications inscribed on each. An additional blue plaque has been placed on the front face of the memorial below the original tablet. In front of this, another tablet sits at the foot of the memorial commemorating the served and returned.
