Set on a moulded plinth is a tall rectangular monument, with fleuron decoration along the top and the front of the edge of each side. On the front is a crown and a wreath above an inscription. Standing on a short column an armoured figure of Saint George holding in his left hand a shield, in his right hand a sword on which is impaled a dragon, all set upon a two-stepped base.

inscribed in badly damaged lettering on the upper part of the front face: FOR / KING & COUNTRY / TO THE GLORY OF GOD / AND IN MEMORY OF / THE MEN OF WALFORD / WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES / IN THE GREAT WAR / 1914-1918; on the upper part of the reverse side: GREATER LOVE HATH / NO MAN THAN THIS, / THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS / LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS.
