Susan Adams was born in Kent but lives and works in Wales. This series of 30 paintings resulted from her appointment in 2002 as Cywaith Cymru/Oriel Mostyn Artist-in-Residence on Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island), the legendary ‘Island of Twenty Thousand Saints’ off the coast of the Llyn Peninsula, North Wales. She arrived on the Island with a plan to produce 30 paintings during her 30 days residence, as well as work in video and sculpture, all inspired by the idea of the presence of the Saints.
