Coloured lithograph depicting three Pashtun tribesmen on a ledge overlooking the Khyber Pass, with a train in the distance. A young man stands holding a rifle, with two older, bearded men are seated on the ground at his feet. One of them, sat on a mat, talks to him and gestures. Beyond are red cliffs, with a passenger train hauled by steam locomotive emerging from a tunnel on the Khyber Pass Railway. In the valley below is a river, and a camel caravan on a mountain path. Text above and below the illustration, with a large yellow diamond in the bottom right corner for the insertion of overprinted text, with the words "The Times of India Press" below.
