This painting is by an unknown artist from India. Polychrome painting on glass depicting Vishnu reclining on the serpent Ananta, framed above by a golden arch at the centre of which is a kirtimukha. Below this at the centre is the standing figure of Vishnu, with a conch shell in his upper left hand and a chakra in his upper right. In his lower left hand he holds a club, and his lower right hand is in abhaya mudra expressing reassurance. He is flanked by two female consorts, Shridevi and Bhudevi. To the extreme left and right are depicted further avatars of Vishnu, their four arms with the same attributes as the central figure.
