A medallion of Wakefield, a head and shoulders portrait, below which is the word 'WAKEFIELD'. Above him is a small Toc H lamp in bronze. This house was the headquarters of Toc H, an organisation of Christian fellowship that started during the First World War. The Church of All Hallows-by-the-Tower is the church of Toc H. Lord and Lady Wakefield gave the house 'for good to church and people'. On the initiative of Rev. P. B. Clayton, a scheme was launched to improve the local area of Tower Hill. A fund was opened, and donations were received from many quarters. The Tower Hill Improvement Trust was formed with Viscount Wakefield as President.
