An automated figure of a Tyrolean huntsman dressed in a Bavarian costume. The base and figure are carved from limewood, and the hat and coat are constructed from pâpier-maché.

The figure has been reconstructed from a state of poor repair. Restorers cleaned it with a solvent and strengthened parts using filling material. The pâpier-maché was treated using traditional paper repair methods, and missing pieces were remodelled using dental plaster. Once reconstructed, the repaired areas were coloured with acrylic paints to blend in with the original.
