Two separated semi-circles, each of which is pierced with a single hole, representing a divided and irregular circle, surmounting a bronze plinth and granite base. The sculpture is one of six copies of the work and was created six years before Hepworth's death. The sculpture was sited outside the new Bolton Crown Court building on its completion in 1984 after spending 14 years in Bolton Museum. It was later lent to Yorkshire Sculpture Park in April 2004, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Hepworth's birth. The sculpture returned to Bolton and was installed at its current site in 2007.
