Sepia photograph depicting a human casualty resulting from an attack on a Turkish column of wheeled carts in a defile, on the road from Tul Keram to Nablus, located to the north of Jerusalem. The photograph was taken on 20 September 1918, during the Battle for the town of Nablus. Tul Keram was initially taken by the British Empire, then troops were ordered to move on towards Nablus from 19 September 1918.

During this time, James McBey was serving here as Official War Artist, which he had begun on 26 May 1917. The photograph is kept within a hardback photograph album, with faux leather overlay, along with a series of other related images.
