This commemorative stone was unveiled by Alex Salmond on his last day as First Minister of Scotland in 2014. It was funded by the Scottish Government and inscribed with one of Mr Salmond's quotes, pledging never to introduce higher education tuition fees in Scotland. It was carved by Historic Environment Scotland apprentice stonemasons.
