‘Trouble in the Twenties’ shows a scene from the General Strike of 1926, with Blacklegs (strike breakers) being escorted to work between two lines of police.
Evans was born in South Wales. He spent three years working in the mines, before moving to the railways where he spent the rest of his working life as an engine-driver. He did not begin painting until he was in his late 60s, holding his first exhibition when he was 71.
