Tobit and Anna were the parents of Tobias who is shown here at the moment when he is saving the sight of his father with the help of the Archangel Raphael. Tobit had been reduced to poverty by God as a test, and Anna supported him with her spinning wheel. The story was considered to be an example of piety in adversity.
