Painted on an irregular-shaped piece of card, this work depicts St Ives Bay, Godrevy Lighthouse and the distinctive local practice of 'Seine' fishing. Wallis employs a shifting perspective in his representation of the harbour. The elevated viewpoint of the bay is contradicted in the description of the black boats and the lighthouses, which are presented in profile. The image is painted on the reverse of another work, 'St Ives Harbour: White Sailing Ship'.
