The inscription at the left bottom corner, as far as it can be deciphered reads as follows: 'Mr Wallis (?) Clark leaving Tory Isd / Pier on his famous yacht / Wild Goose after enjoying a / Good cake(?) in Tory hall His / Friends on the Pier seeing them / off ... and others with them / By James Dixon / 20.3.1965' Signed and dated 1965
