Wimbush was a landscape painter and illustrator, working in Scotland, Wales and the Chanel Islands. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in watercolour and the Royal Society of Artists as well as Birmingham and Manchester City Art Gallery and the Walker Gallery, Liverpool. He provided illustrations for Edith Careys 'The Channel Islands', 1904 and was the first to paint for Tuck's 'Oilette' series of cards depicting British scenes.
