Family and ritual life are central to Dora Holzhander's works, which sparkle with innocent humour. She is renowned for her instinctual use of colour and rich decorative pattern. Born in Paris to Polish Jewish refugee parents, Holzhandler's paintings are held in many museum collections including The Jewish Museum, London and the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow.
