The relationship of this sketch to the print of the same title published in 1747 is problematic. Unlike other studies for prints, the image is not in reverse, suggesting that it may have been copied from the print. However, it is stylistically comparable with other sketches. The scene shows an inn, 'The Old Angle Inn' (i.e. Old England), at the time of the General Election. The banner in the background, inscribed 'No Old Baby', refers to the Old Pretender, who was said to have been introduced into his mother's bed in a warming pan.
