A bedroom at night. A young woman wearing a shawl stands in front of a chest of drawers at the centre of the image. She looks to her right where a bearded, old man tries to steal a watch that is lying on a table through an open window. His face is partly hidden by his hat. An armchair, with a coat draped across the backrest, stands in front of the table. To the women\'s left, a bald man lies on his side asleep in a curtained four-poster bed. The other half of the bed remains invisible beyond the right margin. A large chest stands in front of the bed.
