The Old Gatehouse in Highgate. This shows the old Chapel, described in 1387 as a 'hermit's chapel' (Victoria County History, 1980), enlarged in 1616 and 1628, now replaced by Highgate School Chapel. There is a glimpse through the gate of what might be a coach and horses.
