The three paintings by E. A. Hutchins depict Dawlish around 1845 and show the Atmospheric Railway, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the beach scene showing the 'Cow Hole' rocks, and the Lawn in the centre of town. These paintings originally hung in the Grand Hotel in Dawlish until it was demolished in the 1960s.
