The Honorable Mary Lowther, first daughter of Viscount Lonsdale and Catherine Thynne, wearing an orange silk dress. This is one of four pictures from the former Strickland family collection at Boynton Hall. The painting is mentioned in an inventory of 1696, as hanging in the withdrawing room at Lowther Castle. Mary married Sir John Wentworth of Broadsdale and North Elmsall in 1692.
