This painting shows a pair of coracle men fishing, probably on the Tywi river in Carmarthenshire. It is painted in a bold, geometric style. The artist Tony Evans referred to his later works in this style as 'planar'. He was an excellent draughtsman and was interested in looking for the bold shapes in nature, the landscape and in human and animal forms.
