Painting of the meeting of the Central Executive Cotton Famine Relief Committee, Manchester. Painted in monochrome with touches of crimson, in an oak frame with appleid plaster mouldings of pendant and overlapping foliage. The work is fitted with a plaque. According to correspondence in the Kenneth Spencer Research Library, University of Kansas at Lawrence, McLachlan was the original photographer and commissioner of the work.
