This semi-circular painting (or 'lunette') is after the original painting by Uccello in the National Gallery, London. The painting, featuring knights on horseback, shows the Battle between the Florentines and the Sienese at San Romano in 1432. Niccolò da Mauruzi da Tolentino, the leader of the victorious Florentine forces, is seated on his white charger, identifiable by the motif of the 'Knot of Solomon' on his banner.
