This inscription appears on the frame: 'The peice was found in ye Ruines of An house att [space] near Yorke, Procur'd & Beautified By William Richardson of Norhtbierley 1689' The William Richardson referred to lived 1666-1716, and was the younger brother of Richard Richardson.
