Alan Kilpatrick (born in Assam, India) studied at Central Saint Martin`s College of Art & Design in London. He was an elected professional member of the SSA and works between studios in Edinburgh and St Monans in Fife.

His work utilises a number of media, including henna, spices, marble dust and incense as well as ceramic, photography and film as he continues to explore the influence of the artisan and themes of migration in his work.

Kilpatrick has exhibited widely in the UK, France, Poland, Norway, Slovakia, India, and the USA where his work features in many private and public collections.
