This painting depicts the junction of Cannon Place and Cannon Lane in Hampstead, NW3. The painting was exhibited as part of Walters' second one-man exhibition at the Paul Guillaume, Brandon Davis Gallery in June 1930 where it was amongst the paintings singled out for praise by a number of critics.
