Domestic still life composition arranged on a white table top. Seen from the left is a small box, a reel of black thread and a pair of open scissors; behind these is a green, elliptical vase holding an arrangement of pink flowers, which casts a purple shadow on the sand-coloured wall behind; to the right and in front of the vase is a white milk jug with a vertical striped black pattern on its shoulders; next to the jug is a large, white tea-cup and saucer patterned with a blue, pink and orange floral design; behind this is a tall sugar bowl with a lid and two handles. Hung on the wall behind the still life composition are two paintings, both of which appear to be landscape scenes.
