Bronze figures of an older man in cloth cap and rosette, a younger woman and two children. The main holds a armorial sundial above his head mounted on a two-step concrete circular plinth. There is an adjacent memorial plaque, which mean the statue is also utilised as a war memorial for wreaths.

Inscription description

inscription of plaque to front of statue: All generations come together at the Stadium of Light. A love of "The Lads" has bonded together supporters for more than 125 years and will for many more years in the future. At Sunderland it is this statue to the fans that has pride of place. Supporters who have passed away have their support carried on by today's fans, just as the supporters of today will have their support continued through families and friends. We share this vision and bond as one because Sunderland AFC is For Us All. adjacent to the sculpture is a plaque commemorating those who fell in the war : TEHY SHALL NOT GROW OLD AS WE ARE LEFT GROW OLD, AGE SHALL NOT WEARY THEM NOR THE YEARS CONDEMN, AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND IN THE MORNING WE WILL REMEMBER THEM /DEDICATED TO THE SUNDERLAND PLAYERS WHO DIED IN THE WORLD WARS 1914-1918 (names of the fallen) 1939-1945 (name) AND TO ALL THOSE WHO SELFLESSLY GAVE THEIR LIVES.
