The figure is depicted holding her breasts and with bent knees. She has a high-crested coiffure, rings around her neck, strings of white beads wrapped around her waist and a necklace of black and white beads. Her eyes and mouth are overlaid with metal plates and cicatrisation patterns are shown on her torso and chest. The work was made by a Temne or Mende artist and was acquired 1843–1844.
