A large-scale drawing of a woman in predominantly blue and black ink. The woman is drawn leaning into the right-hand side of the page. She wears a full-length gown and has hands busy at chest level, holding perhaps an empty (undrawn) vessel. Towards the top, there are two staircases to a doorway or an arch. A third stairway leads to the door with a silhouette. A person is flanked by five windows with crossed panes or perhaps tombstones with a cruciform. As with much of Gill's oeuvre, much is left open to interpretation.
