A full-size armature, representing 'Songster', a horse that served with the Leicestershire Yeomanry on the French battlefields during the First World War. He survived the terrible conflict, returning to Loughborough and living to the age of 40. When 'Songster' died in his stable in 1940, he was buried with full military honours with the medal ribbons he had earned in the First World War. The sculpture was erected to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.
