An original painting by the renowned Welsh landscape artist John ‘Kyffin’ Williams. It was presented to Alun Grammar School by the Headteacher, Gareth Lloyd Jones, on his retirement in 1965. He purchased it on a visit to a local gallery near to Kyffin Williams’ home on Anglesey. Alongside the painting in situ is a signed first edition of Kyffin Williams’ autobiography, ‘Across the Straits’, in which he talks of the landscape of North Wales and explains the motivation behind works such as ‘Snowdon’.
