Sketchbook bound in dark brown board with metal clasp. There are 72 pages drawn on. Drawings mainly consit of coastal views of the Channel Islands and France, landscapes and studies of ships. Inside the cover there is a pocket with one loose page, a boat sketch with pencil. There are inscriptions and dates on various pictures including ships, southhampton, Hudson, Golden Spur, South Western Normandy. Places including St. Dates from 6th April/64 to 4th Sept 1881.
