This head and shoulders portrait depicts Sir Thomas Aston in three-quarters profile, wearing a wide lace collar over dark shoulders. He has thick, shoulder-length hair.

Aston was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons in 1640 and who fought for the Royalist cause in the English Civil War.
